Netflix series makes '13 Reasons Why' a No. 1 USA TODAY best seller

1.The thriller pace

“You can’t stop the future

You can’t rewind the past

The only way to learn the secret

…is to press play.”

JAY ASHER-13 REASONS WHY

The story starts with a dead girl Hannah baker circulating tapes which contain the reasons for her suicide. Well, if this line itself doesn’t make you feel intrigued then I don’t know what will, I mean guys the girl is dead, how can she circulate tapes? Well, that is because… read the book to find out why!

2. Best Debut Novel

Okay, hands down because this is the best debut novel I have ever read related to such kind of topic. and no doubt majority feels the same and hence this book being converted into a Netflix series and continuing to be 4 seasons with crazy response all over.

3. Strong characters

The character of Hannah baker will make you think, will make you sympathize with her, maybe you’ll curse her sometimes. the character of Clay will make you feel the innocence and intellectual nature. the character of Bryce will fill you with agony and your blood may start running fast in your veins but that’s the demand of the story.

4. Dark topics and issues

Now, let me tell you this book was banned and that was because many thought that this book glamorizes suicide and other issues such as bullying, abusing and rape. But don’t you think such topics should reach to people so that they can actually find a way to overcome it? The need was to understand those things and be strong and vigilant and take stand against them! So yes, for taking stand against it you need to read such things.

5. Gripping mystery

Read the first reason again and adding to that the thrill streak just doesn’t die at any point of the story. It will keep you gripped and you wont find the story dragging anywhere.

6. Will change your perspective

“You can’t go back to how things were. How you thought they were. All you really have is…now.”

JAY ASHER-13 REASONS WHY

Now when I say this book will change your perspective I definitely mean it. It will change you as a person, you maybe you while going into the book but you definitely will not leave the last page of the book as a same person. Read it. Experience it!

7. Teach you to EXPRESS and not IMPRESS

As a person there are thousand, okay millions of thought inside your heads going on jumbling there. And you never know when they turn into monsters and grip you into depression and other issues resulting in something your soul will always regret. This book will exactly teach you that expressing your views your thoughts are important and will help you.

8. Narration style

The story is written as if you’re listening to tapes yourself and give you feels totally! The chapters are divided on the basis of tapes and to each person the tape is referred to. That means the chapters are according to each reason why Hannah died and everyone involved or are reason for her death. Interesting, isn’t it?

9. Poignant enough

“I hope you’re ready, because I’m about to tell you the story of my life. More specifically, why my life ended. And if you’re listening to these tapes, you’re one of the reasons why.”

JAY ASHER-13 REASONS WHY

Yes, its sad and evokes a deep sense of regret also no doubt. Although you are not in Hannah’s life still you’ll feel that . That’s how powerful it is.

10. Damn entertaining

You must be thinking now, it is dark and poignant and entertaining at the same time? Well, yes it is. The suspense will drown you into the book like the water drowning you in the ocean.

“Fun drunks make a nice addition to any party. Not looking to fight. Not looking to score. Just looking to get drunk and laugh.”

11. High school vibes

Being a young adult book, the writer has left no stones unturned to give us the feels. The dance, the school atmosphere, the locker rooms , the fun, everything just gives you high school vibes.

12. Don’t believe me?

Well why would you! but go check the thousand of goodreads rating given to this book. An average of 4.0 stars on amazon Netflix and some BookTube videos.

13. I mean, why not?

“A lot of you cared, just not enough.”

JAY ASHER-13 REASONS WHY

CARE ENOUGH to read this book. I understand the amount of hate this book has gotten should not be the reason of you ignoring it and stopping yourself to give your perspective. Read it maybe it wont disappoint you, maybe it will teach as it did to me. And then feel free to binge it!
